BEYOND THE NUMBERS
In Case You Missed It...
This week at CBPP, we focused on health, the federal budget, and income security.
- On health, Allison Orris explained how Medicaid plays a key role in people’s health and well-being on the 58th anniversary of the program’s enactment. Maani Stewart stressed how state best practices can help reduce coverage losses during unwinding, and we updated our resource tracking states’ unwinding from continuous Medicaid coverage.
- On the federal budget, Chuck Marr and Samantha Jacoby highlighted how the bipartisan Senate action passes a minimal test for IRS funding while multiple House Republican bills fail.
- On income security, LaDonna Pavetti interviewed Moriah Geer, a former Temporary Assistance for Needy Families recipient, with an emphasis on the human costs of taking assistance away for not meeting harsh work requirements.
We also released our 2021-2022 Progress and Impact annual report.
