On health, Sarah Lueck emphasized that economic legislation should include health policies to boost coverage and ease the strain on families’ budgets. Judith Solomon explained that Congress needs to provide adequate, stable Medicaid funding for the U.S. Territories. On housing, Will Fischer noted that surging rent and utility costs make the need for housing vouchers more urgent. On family income support, Diana Azevedo-McCaffrey called on policymakers to honor Women’s History Month by strengthening care infrastructure and the care workforce. On poverty and inequality, Claire Zippel described a CBPP data dashboard that shows economic and health security program participation and anti-poverty effects. On state taxes, we updated a paper by Samantha Waxman and Iris Hinh on state earned income tax credits to reflect updated guidance about the Treasury Department’s final rule on the American Rescue Plan. On the economy, Nick Gwyn noted that historic unemployment programs provided vital support to workers and the economy during the pandemic. We also updated our backgrounder on how many weeks of unemployment compensation are currently available.
