In Case You Missed It...

| By CBPP

This week at CBPP, we focused on housing, the federal budget, health, and the economy.

  • On housing, Alicia Mazzara noted that the gap between median renter income and median rent widened in 2018.
  • On the federal budget, Chad Stone recommended putting deficit and debt concerns aside when it’s time to fight a recession. Richard Kogan updated a report on a Senate appropriations bill that would shortchange human services programs despite room for increases in the recent budget deal.
  • On health, Hannah Katch, Judith Solomon, and Aviva Aron-Dine pointed out that a Tennessee block grant proposal threatens access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries.
  • We updated our chart book tracking the post-Great Recession economy.
