This week at CBPP, we focused on housing, the federal budget, health, and the economy.
On housing, Alicia Mazzara noted that the gap between median renter income and median rent widened in 2018.
On the federal budget, Chad Stone recommended putting deficit and debt concerns aside when it’s time to fight a recession. Richard Kogan updated a report on a Senate appropriations bill that would shortchange human services programs despite room for increases in the recent budget deal.
On health, Hannah Katch, Judith Solomon, and Aviva Aron-Dine pointed out that a Tennessee block grant proposal threatens access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries.
We updated our chart book tracking the post-Great Recession economy.
