Live! Authors Discuss $2 a Day: Living on Almost Nothing in America

| By CBPP

From 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. today, CBPP and the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality are hosting a conversation with Kathy Edin and Luke Shaefer about their new book, $2 a Day: Living on Almost Nothing in America.  You can watch via livestream and join in the conversation on Twitter with #2Dollars.

In Sunday’s New York Times, Harvard University’s William Julius Wilson described $2 a Day as “a remarkable book that could very well change the way we think about extreme poverty in the United States.”

Today’s event includes remarks by Senator Sherrod Brown and White House Domestic Policy Council Director Cecelia Munoz, as well as a panel discussion moderated by Georgetown University’s Peter Edelman and including Nickel and Dimed author Barbara Ehrenreich, Wade Henderson of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and the American Enterprise Institute’s Aparna Mathur.
