This week at CBPP, we focused on food assistance, health, housing, and the economy.

On food assistance, CBPP Vice President for Food Assistance Ty Jones Cox released a statement calling on Congress to reject a deeply flawed farm bill that turns its back on the millions of low-income families struggling to afford groceries in the wake of last summer’s harmful Republican megabill.
On health, Allison Orris highlighted how the Trump administration is weaponizing claims of fraud — many of them false — to weaken Medicaid, sow division, and punish predominantly blue states.
On housing, Sonya Acosta documented a proposed rule from the Department of Housing and Urban Development that would put 20,000 families at risk of eviction and homelessness.
On the economy, we updated our backgrounder on the maximum number of weeks of unemployment insurance available in each state.
