In Case You Missed It . . .
This week at CBPP, we focused on the federal budget, federal taxes, health, and the economy.
- On the federal budget, we released a commentary from Sharon Parrott on how the State of the Union address and the President’s budget foreshadow critical policy choices for 2025. In a statement Parrott, CBPP’s president, highlighted that the recent “minibus” spending bill rightly prioritizes funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Infants, Women, and Children (WIC) and housing vouchers. And we’ve launched a web page that we’ll continually update starting Monday, March 11, with analyses of the President’s budget.
- On federal taxes, Chuck Marr, Samantha Jacoby, and George Fenton underscored the failures of the 2017 Trump tax law and outlined the course correction needed in 2025.
- On health, Allison Orris and Jennifer Sullivan summarized how Medicaid can help address health-related social needs.
