This week at CBPP, we focused on state budget and tax, housing, and health.
- On state budget and tax, Wesley Tharpe emphasized that states should reverse tax-cut sprees and take a brighter path in 2024.
- On housing, Sonya Acosta underscored why added funding is needed to prevent harmful cuts to housing vouchers and other rental assistance programs in 2024. Will Fischer explained why direct rental assistance should be tested through local pilots and a national demonstration.
- On health, Jennifer Sullivan highlighted that record numbers of people chose Affordable Care Act marketplace coverage for 2024. Laura Harker explained that six months into the Georgia Pathways program, over 400,000 people still lack health coverage and that expanding Medicaid would improve access for low-income Georgians.
