This week at CBPP, we focused on Social Security, health care, state budgets and taxes, and the economy.
- On Social Security, we updated our chart book on the top ten facts about Social Security. Bryann DaSilva gave a breakdown of those facts here, here, here, and here. He also listed some striking numbers about Social Security to celebrate its 80th birthday.
- On health care, Jesse Cross-Call explained why Arizona’s proposed changes to its Medicaid expansion would jeopardize the state’s dramatic coverage gains under health reform.
- On state budgets and taxes, Erica Williams advised North Carolina lawmakers to reject a proposed “taxpayer bill of rights,” which would weaken education and other public services over time.
- On the economy, we updated our chart book on the legacy of the Great Recession.
