Urvi is a Policy Analyst on the Housing and Income Security team. She first joined the Center as an intern, during which her work focused on examining Temporary Assistance for Needy Families to advocate for policies that better support families with low incomes. Her focus now involves working within intersectional policy areas guided by a racial equity lens, including housing, income security, child welfare, and reproductive justice. Prior to joining the Center, Urvi worked for community-based nonprofits dedicated to antipoverty, child welfare, and mental health. She is also a former Peace Corps Volunteer and AmeriCorps VISTA member.

Urvi holds a Master of Science in Public Affairs and Community Development from Rutgers University-Camden, and a B.S. in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication from James Madison University.
