Urvi Patel is a Policy Analyst on the Housing and Income Security team. Her work focuses on state housing policy as well as the intersection between cash assistance and housing, with interests in child welfare and reproductive justice.
Before joining the Center, she worked for different community-based nonprofits focused on antipoverty, economic mobility, and well-being. She was previously a Peace Corps volunteer in Tonga and an AmeriCorps volunteer in South Carolina, working in the fields of equity and inclusion, community engagement, youth development, and programming & training.
Urvi received a M.S. in Public Affairs and Community Development from Rutgers University-Camden and a B.S. in Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication from James Madison University.
