Julian Legendre is a State Visual Communications Specialist with the State Fiscal Policy (SFP) team. In this role, Legendre focuses on engaging diverse audiences in states across the country through clear and compelling visuals and digital communications. They were previously a Research Associate with SFP, where they primarily focused on immigration policy, the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on state budgets, and states’ spending of federal pandemic relief funds.
Prior to joining the Center, they were a Next Leader fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies, where they published analyses on far-right politics and the solidarity economy movement. They hold a dual Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Affairs from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Montreal.
