Erik Gartland

Erik Gartland is a Research Analyst on the Housing and Income Security team. Since joining the Center in 2020, he has supported the team with timely analyses of housing hardship and federal rental assistance data while continually working to center equity and housing justice in the team’s research practices and products. Prior to joining the Center, he was a Data Management Analyst at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, where he created a data catalog and promoted effective data management policies. He has also worked at the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, Epic Systems, and served as an AmeriCorps member with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, coordinating volunteers in building affordable homes for first-time homeowners.

Gartland holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from St. Olaf College and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin.
