Which Schools and Districts Are Eligible to Serve Free Meals to All Students?
| By
Becca Segal
With the May 1 deadline approaching for states to publish lists of schools and school districts eligible for the new “community eligibility” option, our new map makes it easy to find the information published to date. Community eligibility can help schools in high-poverty areas address child hunger by serving meals at no charge to all students, as I explained yesterday. Eligible schools and districts must decide by June 30 whether to implement the option for the 2014-2015 school year.
