In Case You Missed It...

| By CBPP

Recently at CBPP, we focused on governance, food assistance, and health.

  • On governance, Kiran Rachamallu and Devin O'Connor underscored how the Trump Administration's radical cuts to the federal workforce are affecting veterans, causing a loss of experience and expertise that will have lasting consequences for the Department of Veteran Affairs.
  • On food assistance, Vice President for Food Assistance Ty Jones Cox released a statement on the House Agriculture Committee Chair’s proposed farm bill and its failure to address the unfolding food insecurity crisis created by historic SNAP cuts in the recently enacted harmful Republican megabill.
  • On health, we documented another attempt by the Trump Administration to weaponize federal funding as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been ordered to withhold more than $600 million in public health grants to four Democratic-led states.
