This week at CBPP, we focused on health, food assistance, the federal budget, and housing.

On health, Gideon Lukens described how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) drove record health coverage for small-business and self-employed workers. Kaylin Hewitt highlighted the many ways in which the ACA improved health and financial security for millions of people. We also released a toolkit with guidance for advocates and state agencies on how to streamline the eligibility verification process for Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
On food assistance, Zoë Neuberger and Lauren Hall explained the importance of collaboration between the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Medicaid, and SNAP, so that more eligible low-income families with children have access to health, food, and supportive services.
On the federal budget, we updated our backgrounder on where federal tax dollars go.
On housing, Mari Castaldi updated her report explaining that taxing high-value home sales is an equitable and effective strategy to raise revenue and fund affordable housing.
