Center on Budget Mourns the Loss of Paul Rudd

We are extraordinarily saddened to report that Paul Rudd, an esteemed member of CBPP’s Board of Directors since 2008, passed away suddenly yesterday in New York at the age of 47.

Paul was a wonderful human being who was dedicated to making our world a more just and compassionate place. He was understated and self-effacing, but he was a brilliant individual with a deep passion and commitment to social justice. He was thoughtful and insightful, and he consistently raised important, probing questions. And he brought particular insight and expertise to his role on the Board’s Finance Committee.

Paul also was an enormously decent and kind human being, and the world will be less well off without him.

Our hearts go out to Paul’s partner, Denise, and their 5-year-old daughter, Violet, as they face this unfathomable loss.

We will greatly miss Paul. And we will long remember him.
