Shaunya Owens is the Contracts Manager/Operations Specialist at the Center. Owens joined the Center in January 2001 as the Administrative Assistant for the Outreach and Health Policy teams. During her tenure, she has provided support to every policy team at the organization. Owens was also the Project Coordinator for the Center’s Racial Equity Initiative, which included serving as a member of the Racial Equity Working Group. She also was an integral part of the State Policy Fellowship application process. 

Prior to joining the Center, she held numerous administrative support positions at organizations such as the Association of Organ Procurement Organization, the United Negro College Fund, and Equifax Credit Bureau.

Owens holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Southeastern University.
