Margot is a Senior Policy Analyst on the Immigration Policy team. Previously, she was a Policy Analyst in the Office of Policy & Strategy at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), where she served as a subject matter expert on humanitarian immigration benefits. During her tenure at USCIS, Margot contributed to the development of key regulations and policies on a variety of humanitarian immigration benefits, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Special Immigrant Juvenile classification, T and U nonimmigrant status, and relief under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Before joining USCIS, she worked in the non-profit sector as an attorney specializing in juvenile and humanitarian immigration law, including as an Equal Justice Works Fellow, sponsored by The Morrison & Foerster Foundation, at Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). Prior to her legal career, she worked as an advocate on policy issues relating to children’s rights and anti-human trafficking efforts and served as a fellow in the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs.

Margot holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
