Maani Stewart is a Senior Policy Analyst on the Health Policy team. His work focuses on promoting federal and state policies that help to effectively deliver Medicaid, SNAP, and WIC benefits to those eligible for the programs.
Prior to joining the Center, Stewart served as a Programs Specialist at a Virginia Department of Social Services local agency where he conducted Medicaid and SNAP eligibility determinations and facilitated enrollment for eligible beneficiaries. His prior work also includes serving as the Health Care Training and Consumer Education Manager at Young Invincibles. In this capacity, he promoted policies that increased access to Medicaid and ACA coverage and provided application assistance for individuals seeking coverage. Stewart also previously held a position at Mathematica, where he evaluated best practices for Medicaid and ACA enrollment efforts and supported programmatic implementation of Medicaid.
Stewart holds a Master of Public Health degree from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
