Ashley is the Deputy Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging on the Equity and Inclusion team. Dr. Clarke has spent the last decade establishing herself as a thought leader in equity, justice, leadership, and organizational development. In previous roles, she served as the Senior Associate for Diversity and Inclusion and the Leadership Development Program Manager at the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University, where she shaped leadership development initiatives for BIPOC leaders. She also held a faculty role in the Leadership Studies program at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she made significant contributions to advancing leadership education through her innovative curriculum design and critical perspectives on leadership.

Dr. Clarke is a critical qualitative scholar; her research focuses on equity and justice in educational excellence. Taking an equity-minded approach, she fosters educational, reflective, and thoughtful spaces. She engages in collaborative dialogue using theory and practice, leading to transformational change.

Dr. Clarke earned her PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park. She holds an MSW and an MBA with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from the University of South Carolina and the University of Michigan-Flint, respectively. She is also a certified practitioner and facilitator of innovative design thinking workshops, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Emotional Intelligence 2.0, and 360 assessments.
