Samantha Waxman, Joanna LeFebvre, and Sonali Master emphasized that states should continue enacting and expanding child tax credits and earned income tax credits.On food assistance, Katie Bergh pointed out that the 2024 appropriations agreement fully funds the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and rejects harmful food package proposals, creating opportunities to reach more eligible low-income families.On health, we updated our resource tracking states’ unwinding from Medicaid continuous coverage. Jennifer Sullivan, Allison Orris, and Gideon Lukens also updated their paper on how Affordable Care Act coverage expansions have helped millions and provide the basis for further progress.
