On the federal budget and taxes, Chuck Marr detailed how the Biden-Harris Child Tax Credit expansion would lift 10 million children above or closer to the poverty line. Richard Kogan and David Reich updated their introduction to budget reconciliation. On family income support, Ali Safawi explained how the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families provisions of the Biden-Harris emergency relief plan would help families with lowest incomes. On state budgets and taxes, Michael Leachman stated that states, localities, tribal nations, and territories need more federal aid. On food assistance, Dottie Rosenbaum explained that President Biden’s executive action on food assistance strengthens the federal response to hunger. On health, we updated our Sabotage Watch tracker of efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act. On poverty and inequality, we updated our fact sheet tracking the COVID-19 recession’s effects on food, housing, and employment hardships. On the economy, Chad Stone and Katie Windham updated our paper explaining why the needs of younger generations argue for further fiscal relief and stimulus.
