The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities will hold a conference call briefing for journalists Tuesday, September 13, at 1:30 p.m. (ET) to examine the new Census Bureau data for 2015 on poverty, health insurance coverage, income, and income inequality trends that will be released that morning.
Among the topics the briefing will cover are:
Do the new data show gains in terms of poverty, median income, and income inequality? What are the implications for policymakers?
What do the Census data on health insurance rates tell us about coverage trends, the impact of the health reform law, and whether 2014’s historic coverage gains continued into 2015?
What do the new data indicate about the role of the safety net and the state of the economy in addressing poverty?
After opening remarks, the panelists and other Center experts will take questions.
To participate in the briefing, please register by e-mailing [email protected], or calling the Center’s communications office at (202) 408-1080.
