Examining the Budget Control Act’s Across-the-Board Cuts

CBPP has issued a report outlining how the across-the-board cuts in the Budget Control Act, which are scheduled to begin in January 2013, will work.

As the table shows, the law calls for $984 billion in budget cuts from 2013 through 2021, or $109.3 billion per year, split equally between defense and non-defense programs.
