Claims on Health Reform and Part-Time Work Are Overblown

In an op-ed in Politico, CBPP Senior Fellows Jared Bernstein and Paul Van de Water examine claims that health reform — specifically, the requirement that employers with at least 50 full-time workers offer them health coverage — is causing a big shift toward part-time work.
“The fact is, it’s too early to know how health reform will ultimately affect the amount of part-time work,” they write. “But there’s every reason to expect the impact will be small.”
