The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the nation’s most important anti-hunger program, helping over 40 million low-income people afford a nutritionally adequate diet in a typical month in 2017.

We work to protect SNAP from efforts to sharply cut benefits or convert the program into a block grant for states. We also work with the U.S. Agriculture Department to ensure that it implements SNAP efficiently and effectively.
