Cheikh Niang is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. In this role, he oversees the Center’s Information Technology department and is responsible for providing vision and leadership to the Center’s use of technology to advance its mission, as well as technical oversight, information security, and management of the Center’s technology resources.

Cheikh has over 20 years of experience in the planning, development, delivery, and monitoring of technical solutions. He joined the Center in 2012 and during his tenure has stabilized and advanced CBPP use of technology to increase productivity and collaboration and deliver time-sensitive digital assets in a rapid release and time-sensitive environment. He has developed and guides a new strategic plan to alleviate security vulnerabilities, improve SLAs, and establish business continuity using a variety of Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.

Cheikh serves on both the Leadership Group and as a member of its Information Sharing Committee.

Prior to joining the Center, Cheikh worked as a Senior IT Strategist, Team Leader and Senior Systems/Network Engineer for Assyst, DB Consulting Group, and RIF. He also worked on several large IT projects for organizations in diverse industries, including nonprofit, research, commercial, technology, and government agencies.

Cheikh holds two master's degrees in computer science and cybersecurity from University of Maryland Global Campus, a bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Strayer University, and a completed Executive Leadership Certificate at American Management Association. He also holds a variety of technical and professional certifications, including Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), IT Service Management (ITIL), and Certified Network Professional (CNP).
