State Policy Fellow

Linnea Lassiter

Linnea Lassiter recently joined the SFP research team as a State Policy Fellow, where she conducts research on the fiscal impact of indigent defense systems within state and local courts; establishing a comprehensive, nationwide resource on state funding for public defenders; and the disparate impact insufficient funding has on low-income people of color, particularly black Americans. She comes to the Center after a year as a policy analyst at the DC Fiscal Policy Institute, where she focused on issues facing low-income Washington, D.C. residents.

Lassiter holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science & Public Policy from The George Washington University, as well as a Master’s in Public Policy from The University of Washington.
