Deputy Director, Policy Futures
Michelle Bazie is a Vice President and the Deputy Director of Policy Futures. In this role, she designs the Leadership and Education Program through which emerging policy leaders at the Center receive a robust understanding of key fiscal and low-income issues as well as gain access to a broad range of professional development opportunities. The program is designed to position these leaders to contribute to positive policy outcomes in the future.
Before her appointment to the leadership team of Policy Futures, Bazie was the Center’s Vice President for Communications, coordinating media relations strategies and activities. During her tenure, Bazie cultivated trusted relationships with a broad range of national, state, and local journalists. Bazie was the original architect of the Center’s website and helped guide the Center’s communications efforts through technological and media changes over the past 20 years. She also worked to enhance the communications capacity of non-governmental organizations in several countries involved with the International Budget Partnership.
