Senior Policy Analyst
January Angeles is a Senior Policy Analyst at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Angeles works on Affordable Care Act implementation, focusing on expanding Medicaid, improving eligibility and enrollment policies for Medicaid and Marketplace premium tax credits, and coordinating eligibility for health and human services programs. In her role, Angeles works extensively with program administrators, policymakers, and other stakeholders to improve access to health care and other benefits for low-income people.
Prior to joining the Center, Angeles was a program officer at the Center for Health Care Strategies, where she worked with state Medicaid agencies and managed care plans on initiatives to improve quality and reduce racial disparities in health care. She also worked at the American Institutes for Research and Mathematica Policy Research, where she evaluated health care programs and policies.
Angeles received a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor of arts degree from Oberlin College.
