Jacob Leibenluft is a senior advisor at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
Jacob worked from 2011 to 2012 and from 2013 to 2016 at the National Economic Council at the White House, most recently as Deputy Assistant to the President for economic policy and Deputy Director of the NEC. While at the White House, his portfolio included tax and budget issues, skills and job training, and strategic planning for the NEC. Immediately prior to joining CBPP, Jacob served as senior policy advisor for Hillary for America, where he led Secretary Clinton’s economic policy team during the 2016 campaign. He also served as the economic policy director on President Obama’s 2012 campaign.
Jacob began his work in the Obama Administration at the Department of the Treasury, where he worked in 2009 and 2010 during the height of the financial crisis. He is a graduate of Yale University and the recipient of a Truman Scholarship and a Henry Luce Scholarship.
