Director of Network Philanthropic Engagement
Aoife Toomey is Director of Network Philanthropic Engagement with the State Fiscal Policy team. She leads a team that creates and communicates a holistic understanding of the funding landscape surrounding state policy work. These efforts include building and strengthening funder relationships, identifying new funding opportunities, and assisting State Priorities Partnership groups with their local fund development work.
Toomey began her fundraising career in electoral politics before working in both individual and institutional donor relations as a frontline fundraiser at several organizations, including the Pew Charitable Trusts, Bipartisan Policy Center, and Smithsonian Institution, where she served as Assistant Director for Foundation Relations. Prior to joining the Center, Toomey was the Director of Annual Giving and Special Projects at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, where she raised more than half a million dollars annually. She served on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) of western Pennsylvania and currently serves as a mentor as part of AFP DC’s mentoring program.
Toomey received an M.B.A. from Carlow University and a B.A. in political science and economics from Trinity College, Dublin.
