Rachel Tucker is the Senior State Strategies Manager on the food assistance team. Her work focuses on deepening the capacity of the Center's state partners to craft and execute strategic SNAP issue campaigns, work with state legislatures, build and support effective coalitions and partnerships, and share best practices across the Center's network of anti-hunger and anti-poverty advocates. Prior to joining the Center, she worked as the Senior Policy Associate for the California Association of Food Banks, where she provided policy and advocacy support to the Association's network of 41-member food banks. She has also worked at Maryland Hunger Solutions, where she advocated for SNAP policy reforms at the local and state level and managed statewide outreach initiatives to connect low-income Maryland residents to SNAP. She has a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree from New York University.
