Melissa Ricks

Melissa is the Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. In this role she oversees the Center’s human resources and office services team, as well as facilitates the management of our space. She is also a member of the Center’s Executive Management team and collaborates regularly with the Center’s diversity, equity, and inclusion team to advance the work and its mission.

Melissa joined the Center in 2016 and during her tenure has created a space for the human resources function as a critical partner in every aspect of the Center, including negotiating and implementing the first union contract, training and coaching managers to be more diverse and inclusive in their hiring/management practices, and staff development.

Prior to joining the Center, Melissa worked for other national non-profits such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. She also worked for the international firm Wolters Kluwer. Melissa holds a B.A. in Political Science from Slippery Rock University and M.A. in Organizational Development from Marymount University.
