Elaine Mejia is Director of Network and Organizational Effectiveness, overseeing a team of staff dedicated to strengthening the State Priorities Partnership network and its member organizations. Elaine joined the Center in 2016, first serving as a Senior Communications Specialist, focused on developing the communications capacity of organizations in the State Priorities Partnership.
Before joining the Center, Elaine worked for Demos’ Public Works project, advising and training leaders across the country on how to communicate effectively about the role of government and public policy. She previously served as Director of the North Carolina Budget and Tax Center, where she led successful campaigns to increase state revenues to address budget shortfalls, raise the state minimum wage, and enact a state Earned Income Tax Credit.
Elaine holds an M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in political science from Texas A&M University.
