Danielle Wells is Director of Media Relations. She leads the development and execution of communications strategies to inform public debates, shape policy, and help more people lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Over her seven-year tenure with the nonprofit, Wells helped stop three separate efforts in Congress to “defund” Planned Parenthood and repeal the Affordable Care Act; advocate for the Supreme Court to strike down abortion restrictions in Texas in the landmark Whole Woman’s Health ruling; and secure new federal protections for Title X, the national program for affordable reproductive health care. At the state level, Wells led dozens of successful campaigns to protect and expand access to health care. Prior to joining Planned Parenthood’s national office, Wells oversaw communications for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, leading media relations for several high-profile policy fights like the Wendy Davis filibuster. Hailing from Texas, Wells previously worked in development and external relations at The University of Texas at Austin. She has a master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree from Austin College.
