Executive Vice President for Program Development and Management
Steinmetz is the Executive Vice President for Program Development and Management and a close advisor to the Center’s President. She focuses on coordinating work among its various divisions both at the state and federal levels, overseeing development, and assisting in communications. From 1987-1997 she directed the Center's national policy and legislative work on welfare reform. She is a former staff member of the House Government Reform Committee, where she staffed oversight work on a range of public health and safety net issues. Prior to her work on Capitol Hill, she organized state outreach campaigns on school food programs for the Children's Foundation and was a community organizer in the South. She is a graduate of Brown University.
