Susan Steinmetz

Steinmetz is the Associate Director of the Center. She focuses on coordinating and managing work among its various divisions, overseeing the hiring process, and assisting in communications and development.

From 1987-1997 she directed the Center's national policy and legislative work on welfare reform.

She is a former staff member of the House Government Reform Committee, where she staffed oversight work on a range of public health and welfare issues.

Prior to her work on Capitol Hill, she organized state outreach campaigns on school food programs for the Children's Foundation and was a community organizer in the South. She is a graduate of Brown University.
