Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is one of the nationís premier policy organizations working at the federal and state levels on budget priorities and tax policy as well as public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and communities.

The Center helps ensure that the needs of disadvantaged families and individuals are considered in public debates over critical policy issues. Its areas of expertise include federal and state budget and tax policies, health care, low-income housing, nutrition programs, and economic security.

The Center designs measures to make low-income programs more effective and is especially skilled at translating broad policy goals, such as reducing the ranks of the poor and the uninsured, into concrete policies that can garner public support and become law.

The Center has earned bipartisan praise for producing materials that are balanced, authoritative, and responsive to issues before the country.
