Jeannie Biniek joined the Center in May 2014 as a Senior Health Policy Advisor with the Health Policy division, where she focuses primarily on issues related to implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to joining the Center, she worked as an Economist on the Democratic staff of the Senate Budget Committee, where she advised the Chairman on Medicaid, Affordable Care Act implementation, and tax and economic policy issues. She also has experience working in advocacy and community outreach for a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the Latino community and other underserved communities in southern California. In addition, she has worked as a consultant to companies in the health care industry on transfer pricing matters and intellectual property litigation.
Biniek holds an M.A. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Policy with a concentration in Economics at Harvard University.
