Paula Shoecraft is the Director of Foundation Relations. She brings experience in the nonprofit sector at the local, state, and national levels as a consultant, staff, and volunteer. She recently served as Director of Foundation Relations for the Committee for Economic Development (CED), where she worked on foundation fundraising as well as special events. Prior to CED, Shoecraft was the Development Director at the Center for Effective Government, formerly OMB Watch, where she managed foundation and individual giving, along with providing staff support to the Board of Directors. She was formerly the Communications Manager for the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, and as staff at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, she served in a variety of capacities including grant writing, media relations, and outreach.
Prior positions include Director of Development for the Inter-American Dialogue, director of a national public service campaign for Independent Sector, director of a project at the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan promoting giving and volunteering, and director of the Oakland Planning Division of United Community Services, also in Michigan. As principal of her own consulting firm, Shoecraft worked exclusively with nonprofits. She has been a founding board member, committee chair, and board president of a variety of nonprofit organizations.
Shoecraft has a B.S. in Social Science from Michigan State University.
