Shannon Spillane is Vice President for Communications.
She develops and implements communications strategies to promote the Center’s work with the media and other key audiences in order to shape the public debate, with a particular focus on health policy and state budget and tax issues. Spillane helps lead a communications staff of 10 and also works to enhance the communications capacity of member organizations of the Center’s State Fiscal Analysis Initiative.
Prior to joining the Center in 2005, Spillane worked on political campaigns, and as an account executive at Golin/Harris International, a public relations agency in San Francisco.
She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
