Shannon Spillane is Director of Communications.

She works with the Center's policy analysts to communicate the Center’s work to the media and the public, with a particular focus on state budget and tax issues, and health policy.  Spillane also works to enhance the communications capacity of member organizations of the Center’s State Fiscal Analysis Initiative.

Prior to joining the Center in 2005, Spillane worked on political campaigns, and as an account executive at Golin/Harris International, a public relations agency in San Francisco.

She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
